Established in 1987, the New River Valley Habitat for Humanity serves Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski Counties, and Radford City. Habitat NRV is a subsidiary of Habitat for Humanity International, a global non-profit housing organization. One in three households in the NRV is "cost-burdened" - paying over 30% of their monthly income to cover housing costs. Habitat NRV helps families free themselves from this statistic by offering a "hand up, not a hand out" to those in need. 

 

We control the cost of our homes by using donated materials and volunteer labor. Families assist in building their homes then purchase them at cost, with a low- or no- interest mortgage. With your support, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families.
